In 2047, a distress signal is received from the Event Horizon, a starship that disappeared during its maiden voyage to Proxima Centauri seven years earlier. In the years since, the film has developed a cult following and is referenced in other works of popular culture. However, it began to sell well on home video its initial DVD release sold so well that Paramount contacted Anderson to begin working on a restoration of the deleted footage, but it had been either lost or destroyed. On release, the film was a commercial and critical failure, grossing $42 million on a $60 million production budget. TLDR: If you know how the warp works in 40k you should look at it as canon WH as it is much more fun, but it can "ruin" your experience. But again it might be because I literaly smiled at the scene *SPOILERS where the doctor ripped a man's guts out* for the reason that the entire picture could've very easily been a Games Workshop artwork. My two problems are (and these apply to the 40k read of the story as well): *SPOILERS the two remaining surviving characters are underexplored and thus not very likeable* and that the tention, although never drops it never really ascends either, always remaining (at least for me) at a rather high althugh still confortable level. It should also be said that the production quality is top notch, I think I stopped 3 times while watching just admire the antention done here (except for the burning man). Regardless the movie is enjoyable, remaining at a certain level of tension for the whole time. you will be bombarded by plotholes and questions purposefully unanswered for the sake of mistery. I watched through the movie as though it was set in the afore mentioned universe, and it passed all but one check in canonicty (so basicly the thing could've very easily been set in 40k universe).Īs that I really enjoyed my time through it and the entire story makes sense, however if you don't know how the warp works etc. Now, I can give you my personal perspective as a long time Warhammer 40k fan. ![]() Latest Discussions The Super Mario Bros Movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves John Wick: Chapter 4 Renfield Keanu Reeves Tobey Maguire The Big List of Movie-Related Subreddits. Our Full Rules and Wiki Filter Posts by Link FlairĬlick 'spoiler' after posting something to give it a spoiler tag!
